Alice Louise Jameson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the Homestead Assisted Living & Memory Care in Osceola, Iowa.
Alice was born on December 11, 1937, in Greenfield, Iowa, to Frank and Mary (Speed) Griswold. She was one of five children and spent her childhood in the Greenfield area, graduating from Greenfield High School. After high school, she moved to Des Moines, where she worked at the telephone exchange before pursuing her passion for beauty by attending beauty school and working in local salons.
On September 17, 1966, Alice married Darrell Jameson, and together they raised four children: Mary, Anne, Dan, and Tim. The family lived just outside of Greenfield for many years before moving into town in the late 1990s.
Alice was a dedicated worker, spending many years employed at Carlson’s Super Value in the bakery alongside her friends Marylin Harter and Mary Roberts. She later enjoyed a successful career at Cardinal IG for over twenty years before her retirement.
Alice had a vibrant spirit and cherished her friendships, often gathering with the girls for lively poker nights or a girl's trips. She was passionate about gardening and took great joy intending to her beautiful flower gardens. A devoted mother and grandmother, Alice loved attending her children’s and grandchildren’s ballgames, where she would cheer them on with infectious enthusiasm. She also enjoyed listening to Elvis, often finding joy in his timeless music. Alice and Darrell cherished late-night trips to the casino in Osceola, creating lasting memories together.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Darrell; daughter, Mary; brothers, Leon, and Paul; sisters, Opal, and Ruth; and numerous extended family members and dear friends.
She is survived by her children, Anne, Dan (Michelle), and Tim (Christy); grandchildren, Chase, Abbey, Travis (Rikki), Trevor, Taden, Kiersten, and Parker; great-grandchildren, Blake, Kingston, Taylen, Tatum, Leighton, Titania, and Kash; and many other relatives and friends.
The family of Alice extends their heartfelt gratitude to Homestead of Creston, Homestead of Osceola, and St. Croix for the exceptional care and support they have provided.
Alice will be remembered for her warm heart, love for family, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched.
