Alyssa Annette Welsch was born on August 3rd, 2001 in Des Moines, IA, and is the beloved daughter of Brooke Welsch and Tirol Cummings. Growing up in Fontanelle, some of her most treasured moments were spent with her mom and sister going shopping, to the beach, fishing, camping, spending summers visiting Grammy exploring St. Louis, and spending time at the farm with her grandparents and cousins where simple days together became lasting memories.
Alyssa enjoyed playing volleyball, basketball, softball, track and wrestling cheer during her school years at Nodaway Valley Community Schools. She loved hanging out and being with friends. The moment she got a vehicle she was never home and was always listening to music and driving around with friends. In high school, she worked at Fareway and attended SWCC classes to become a CNA, later working at the local nursing home gaining a passion for helping others.
In 2023, Alyssa embraced her greatest joy – becoming a mother to her daughter, Truu. She loved being a mom, and her time with Truu was filled with tenderness, laughter, and love beyond measure. Starting at a young age, Alyssa always marched to the beat of her own drum. She had a creative soul and brought color and sparkle to every room with her sassy and outgoing personality.
Alyssa passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 24 after suffering most of her adult life with mental illness. She is gone too soon, but we are comforted knowing she is finally at peace.
She is survived by her daughter, Truu Ivy Welsch; mother, Brooke Welsch; father, Tirol Cummings; sisters, Brianna Welsch and LeShay Norwood; brother, Jordan Cummings; maternal grandparents, Mike and Kathy Welsch, and Valerie Welsch; paternal grandmother, Vinnie Cummings; paternal great grandmother, Bernice Nickerson; uncle, Jake Welsch; aunts, Kara Follmann (Dustin), Vilynthia Cummings-Hawkings, and Tilynthia Cummings, and other relatives and friends.
