Bonnie Marie Jacobsen passed away on Friday September 22nd surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Jacobsen was born July 18, 1949 to Charles and Lois (Ford) Ahnen. She was raised in Bridgewater on her family farm along with her sister and best friend, Linda Koch.

She graduated high school from Bridgewater-Fontanelle and later attended AIB College of Business in Des Moines where she earned her degree. After working in Des Moines she returned to Fontanelle, Iowa where she met her loving husband Jake. The two were married for 52 years and raised two daughters, Staci and Jami.

Bonnie spent much of her life as a receptionist in the medical field, brightening patients and her coworkers days. Upon her return to the area, she worked for Schildberg Inc. and then began her work with patients with  Dr. Frankl in Fontanelle, Dr. Hanson in Greenfield, and eventually retired with Adair County Medical Clinic.

Bonnie enjoyed spending her time with Jake, visiting and shopping with her girlfriends, talking to her sister everyday, and taking care of the people she loved. Family was the foundation of Bonnie’s life. She adored supporting her children, and later her four grandchildren, in their education and activities. She loved attending their sporting events, academic ceremonies, and any event where she could show her pride and love for them.

Mrs. Jacobsen is survived by her husband, Gene (Jake) Jacobsen of Greenfield; two daughters, Staci Eastman and husband David of Altoona and Jami Shike and husband David of Greenfield; four grandchildren, Cole, Jenna, Lexi, and Jacob; sister Linda Koch (Ernie Ferderer) of Phoenix, Arizona; other relatives and friends.
