Bryon Keith Murphy passed away December 27th, 2021 at age 51 at his home in Fontanelle Iowa that he shared with his Mom.

Bryon was born February 11th, 1970 to Virgil Murphy and Betty Goetz Murphy Mills and lived most his life in Redfield Iowa. He attended school in Adel and Redfield, graduating from Redfield High School. Bryon was very active in FFA and held leadership roles and earned many badges that later were made into a beautiful quilt. Bryon took Hotel management courses and had a career in the hotel industry for several years prior to working at Polk County Court House for different judges, but his favorite judge was Colin Witt as they had a close friendship until Colin passed away this year. Bryon also was very active at his church, Redfield Methodist Church, where he held several offices and had lifelong relationships with many members. Church was important to Bryon. He loved to travel and visit with friends and relatives and especially loved going on cruises as he loved the ocean. He and Betty worked together in the yard and garden, he loved to go outside, watch birds, water flowers and help Betty any way he could. He liked to help harvest the vegetables and helped with canning. In 2015 Bryon made the commitment to adopt Aidan at age 6, and he loved being a Dad to Aidan, taking him fishing when his health allowed and giving him unconditional love. Aidan had a special bond to his Dad and thought the world of him.

Bryon’s health was difficult over the years, but he always had a positive, happy attitude. He fought diabetes, lost a leg, and was currently doing dialysis three days a week. He and his Mom, Betty, had a very close relationship and she was Bryon’s caregiver for many years. Bryon surprised his Mom many times over the years with special gifts as he appreciated her so much.

Bryon is survived by his Mom, Betty Goetz Murphy Mills, Brother Millard Eugene “Mike” (Myrna) Murphy, Sister Connie Sue (Ronnie) Burnett, Son Aidan, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends.

Bryon was preceded in death by his father Virgil Murphy, Grandparents Millard and Maxwell Murphy, and Eugene and Gertie Goetz, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The Family of Bryon Murphy would like to thank every one for their prayers, thoughts and kind deeds at this time.

The highlight of his life was when he was adopted by Elery Mills.
