Celebration of Life Services: Will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Greenfield. There will be a luncheon at the church immediately following the service. Pastor Melinda Stonebraker will officiate the service. The Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements.  

Open Visitation: Friends may call at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield on Monday, August 30, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Monday, August 30, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield. 

Memorials: May be directed to the Connie Steen Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date. 

Connie Jayne Steen was born July 20, 1953, in Atlantic, Iowa, the daughter of George Roger and Anna Mardell (Hoegh) Hansen. She passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at her home in Greenfield, Iowa, at the age of 68.

Connie grew up in Elk Horn, Iowa and graduated from Elk Horn-Kimballton High School in 1971. She then went on to beautician school in Council Bluffs, Iowa. On April 5, 1975, she was united in marriage to Paul Steen. To this union four children were born: Katie, Kylie, Karmyn and Klayton.

In 1978, they moved to Greenfield and purchased the Bickford-Murray Funeral Home in 1979, changing the name to Steen Funeral Homes. Connie was the hairdresser for Steen Funeral Homes, assisted with funerals, as well as, the homemaker of the Steen household. She also enjoyed gardening, a good garage sale, loved her kids and especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Steve and Ken Hansen.

She is survived by her special companion for 24 years, Scott Marshall; four children, Katie Powell (Shane), Kylie Harter (Kurt), Karmyn Steen and Klayton Steen; nine grandchildren, Carson, Logan and Breanna Powell, Preston Brown, Kohen Harter, Madden and Mavryk Watson, and Fynlee and Saylor Ramsey; three sisters, Judy Schrader (Jerry), Lori Boswell (Gary) and Darla Hansen; brother, Jeff Hansen; other relatives and friends.
