Dale Sickles, 71, of Fontanelle

Funeral Services:  Will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle, Iowa, with burial in the Fontanelle Cemetery.  A luncheon will be held at the church following the burial.  Pastor Steven Broers will officiate the service.  The Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle is in charge of the professional arrangements.  Online condolences may be left to the family at to be www.lambfuneralhomes.com.

Open Visitation:  Will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Family Visitation:  The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Memorials:  May be directed to the Dale Sickles Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.

   Dale Ernest Sickles was born on February 2, 1952, in Greenfield, Iowa, the son of Carl Donald and Evelyn Mae (Tickner) Sickles.  He passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at his home in Fontanelle, Iowa, at the age of 71.
   Dale was raised in Fontanelle and graduated from Fontanelle High School in 1971.  Out of high school he worked for Farmers Lumber Co. in Fontanelle and then went to work for the City of Fontanelle for 19 years.  He was united in marriage to Terri Sue Dukes on June 5, 1977, in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle.  To this union three daughters were born: Jessica, Heather and Samantha.  Terri passed away in 1988.  On February 14, 1995, Dale married Lisa Dupre in Elliot, Iowa.
   Dale later worked for McLeod locating fiber optics for five years and then went to work for Schildberg Construction Company in 2004 and retired from there in 2017.  He enjoyed trapping, fishing, gardening and was a member of the Fontanelle Volunteer Fire Department.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Terri; wife, Lisa in 2019; and his brother, Donny in 2021.
    He is survived by his three daughters, Jessica Young (Roger) of Fontanelle, Heather Schneider (Josh) of Greenfield and Samantha Gettler (Brian) of Fontanelle; step daughter, Jeri Pickrell (Dennis) of Greenfield; 8 grandchildren, Kalyn Young (Trent Jessen), Kynna Young (Hunter Ernst), Kyrin Young, Wyatt Schneider (Emma Cooney), Parker Schneider, Terrin Gettler, Levi Gettler and Slade Gettler; 7 step grandchildren, 9 step great grandchildren; his siblings, Denny Sickles (Debbie), David Sickles (Cindy), Doug Sickles, Judy Sickles, Joyce Nelson, Duane Sickles, Dallas Sickles (Sarah) and Dean Sickles (Denise); other relatives and friends.
   The family of Dale Sickles wishes to express their gratitude for all acts of kindness shown to them in their time of sorrow and invites you to join them for a luncheon at the church following the services at the cemetery.
