Celebration of Life Services: Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield. Pastor David Kincaide will officiate the service. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church. 

Visitation: Will be Held on Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials: To the Danielle Cherry Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.

Danielle Lee Cherry was born November 1, 1984, in Creston, Iowa, the daughter of Scott and Lori (Meisenheimer) Armstrong. She lost her fight with cancer on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 27.

She was raised in Greenfield and attended grade school in the Greenfield Community School and graduated from Nodaway Valley High School in 2003. She went on to graduate from Professional Cosmetology Institute in Ames in 2006. She worked at Master Cuts at Jordan Creek in Des Moines, Iowa. On February 6, 2009, she was united in marriage to Kevin Cherry in Cancun, Mexico. To this union one son, Sladen Scott was born.

Her greatest joy was being a mother to her son Sladen. She dearly loved spending time with him, especially reading to him. She loved cooking, seeing new places, going to beaches, and shopping. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Virgil Armstrong and uncle, Dale Jameson.

She is survived by her husband Kevin Cherry and their son, Sladen; parents, Scott and Lori Armstrong of Greenfield; two brothers, Travis Armstong and nephew Zander of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Tyson Armstrong and wife Jenny and nephew Mac of Urbandale, Iowa; maternal grandparents, Dean and RoseAnne Meisenheimer of Greenfield; paternal grandmother, JoAnn Armstrong of Greenfield; mother-in-law, Syd Cherry of Adel; father-in-law, Jack Cherry of Adel; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
