Darlene was an active 4-H leader, a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Hope Circle. Her favorite hobbies were her country style life, gardening, sewing, hand embroidery, reading and letter writing. She also enjoyed researching family history. She loved her family and spending time with her three children, 6 grandkids and 11 great grandkids. Darlene was a warm and generous person.

Darlene and Bud celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 1, 2012. They enjoyed over 60 of those years on their farm west of Bridgewater and the last 2 1\2 years at the Greenfield Assisted Living Care Center.
