Funeral Services: Will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield with burial in the Greenfield Cemetery.  Full military graveside rites will be conducted by the Greenfield American Legion Head-Endres Post No. 265 and V.F.W. Post No. 5357 and the Iowa National Guard.  A luncheon will follow the burial at the church. Rev. Dr. Keith Schweitzer will officiate the service.  The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lambfuneralhomes.com.

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

   Darriel Eddie Tilk was born January 27, 1929, in Fontanelle, Iowa, the son of John E. and Ella (Hoepner) Tilk.  He passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, Iowa, at the age 94.
   Darriel grew up in Fontanelle and attended Prussia #6 school and left school after the 8th grade to help his father on the farm.  He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  On November 21, 1954, he was united in marriage to Margaret E. Adamson in Greenfield, Iowa.  To this union three children were born: Rodney, Rhonda and Randy.
   Darriel worked for the city of Greenfield until 1980, when he started working for Western Power Administration in Watertown, South Dakota, dispatching electricity for the federal government.  He retired in 1999 and then moved to Harlan, Iowa and then Storm Lake to be closer to his family.  
   Darriel was a member of the American Legion.  He enjoyed helping at the Harlan football games presenting the flag, watching football and baseball games, loved to play bingo and going to the casino, Cha-Ching Darriel.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Tilk; daughter, Rhonda; and two brothers, Alfred and Richard Tilk.
   He is survived by his two sons, Rodney Tilk and wife Adina of San Diego, CA and Randy Tilk and wife Vi of Alta, IA; four grandchildren, Randy Jr., Roxanne Darr (Jason), Jonathan Tilk (Maggie) and Thomas Abram (Lexi) Tilk; five great grandchildren, Xander Tilk, Lily Tilk, Harper Tilk, Theodore Darr and Evan Darr; sister, Norma Lane of Peoria, Illinois; brother-in-law, Tom Adamson (Marlene) of Omaha; sister-in-law, Donna Adamson of Perry; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
   The family of Darriel Tilk wishes to express their gratitude for all acts of kindness shown to them in their time of sorrow and invites you to join them for a luncheon at the church following the services at the cemetery.
