Funeral Services: Will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle with burial in the Fontanelle Cemetery. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by the Fontanelle American Legion Carlson Post No. 247. 

Visitation: Will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle.

Memorials: To the Delmar Queck memorial fund to be established by the family.

Delmar Eugene Queck, son of Ernest and Mary May (Thompson) Queck was born in Prussia Township March 19, 1926 and died October 29, 2012.

He was baptized as an infant April 11, 1926, confirmed June 16, 1940, at Emmanuel Lutheran in Fontanelle, Iowa. Delmar attended country schools and graduated from Fontanelle High School on May 11, 1944.

Delmar entered the Army in June of 1945, spent some time in Germany, and was discharged in December of 1946. He farmed for 24 years and retired from farming in 1971. He enjoyed working in his garden.

Delmar was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion and the Legion Drill Team. He entered the Good Samaritan Center in February of 1996 where he made his home until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Ellen Queck; brother-in-law, Teddy Estell and an infant great-great niece, Amanda Estell.

He is survived by his sister, LaVerne Estell; nephews, Curtis Estell (Theresa) and Roger Estell (Denice); niece, Nancy Estell; great nephews Travis Estell (Jenny), Alex Estell (Tami), Adam and Nicholas Estell, great-great nephews and nieces, Madeline, Tanner, Ayden, Brody and Nora Estell; other relatives and friends.
