Doris June Morrison Daggett was born September 26, 1940.  She became the daughter of William and Amanda (Mensing) Morrison at the age of 3 by adoption. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield and has kept her membership there. Her faith in Jesus as her savior remained steady throughout all her life.

Doris started her education in country school, graduated from Greenfield High School with the class of 1959.  She spent most of her adult life caring for others, especially the elderly in their homes.  She also babysat for working families, worked in dietary at the Adair County Memorial Hospital and did some restaurant work for a time.

Doris was united in marriage to Donald Max Daggett on June 13, 1987 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield. She moved to Des Moines not long after that.  She continued to care for elderly people in that area.

Doris loved to bowl and looked forward to going to State Bowling Tournaments. She enjoyed embroidering as a hobby and was known for her excellent fancy work. Many people are the recipients of it.  She cheered on the local high school sports teams and the Iowa Hawkeyes. She was very fond of pet cats and kittens.  She was kind and generous, had many friends she kept in touch with, especially classmates. She always loved spending time with family members and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Max, her parents and brother Duane, brothers-in-law Horace and Brad Daggett.

She is survived by sisters-in-law Patricia Morrison and Ruth Daggett, many nieces and nephews.
