Eldon Lee Lundy was born December 10, 1931 to Walter E. and Alma Anna Marie Jensen Lundy in Adair County, Iowa. As he wished, he passed away at his beloved home on July 31, 2012 of congestive heart failure.

Eldon was baptized at the Grove Center Methodist Church. He attended rural school in Grove Township and attended Greenfield High School.

On June 1, 1952 Eldon married Alice L. Powell at the Grove Center Methodist Church. To this union two children were born, Vickie Lea and Eldon “Lee” Lundy Jr. Eldon & Alice made their lifelong home in Greenfield, Iowa.

Eldon served his country from 1952-1954 during the Korean War. After his time in the service, he worked for Propane Gas Company/Thermogas, then became an owner/operator for Adair County Farm Service, and was later employed as an over-the-road truck driver for Mid Seven Transportation. After he retired, he loved working in his beautiful yard and garden while maintaining his rental properties. Eldon always had a smile on his face and took pleasure in the simple things in life. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and old-fashioned, home cooked meals. But what made him smile most often were his five grandchildren and five great grandchildren including the recent arrival of twin girls. You could often catch him taking a quick snooze on a shopping mall bench while Alice shopped; but what his grandchildren will remember their grandpa for most is his signature hats, suspenders and talent for wiggling his ears when they needed a laugh.

Eldon was a member of the Methodist Church in Greenfield, Iowa. He also belonged to the VFW, The American Legion, and Teamsters Local 147.

He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Alma, sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Marion Saylor, and brother Ronald Lundy.

He will always be loved by his wife, Alice Lundy; daughter, Vickie (Randy) Thompson of Clive, Iowa; son, Lee (Cindy) Lundy of Fontanelle, Iowa; grandchildren: Tim (Pam) Thompson, Amy (Ed) Thielking, Elizabeth, Jennifer and Austin Lundy; great grandchildren, Ben and Cami Thompson, Cohen, Macklynn and Maelynn Thielking. He is also survived by his brother Russell (Helen) Lundy of Greenfield, Iowa and a host of many loving cousins, nephews, nieces, family and friends.
