Mary Elizabeth Lundstedt passed away Monday, July 14, 2014, at her home, after a 5 year battle with cancer.

Elizabeth was born February 6th, 1946 in Muscatine, IA to Wilbur & Helen De Wit Bakehouse. She grew up in Welton, then DeWitt, and graduated from DeWitt High School in 1964. She then moved with her family to St Petersburg, FL, and attended the University of South Florida, graduating in 1968. The same year, she returned to Iowa to teach Junior High French and Vocal Music in Marshalltown, where she met Marvin. Marvin and Elizabeth were married June 9th, 1979. They moved to Greenfield, and later to a small farm west of town. There, while raising and homeschooling their two children, Elizabeth kept an apple orchard, worked as a piano tuner, operated a Bed & Breakfast, and frequently led worship at her church. She loved classical music and taught flute and guitar lessons for many years, but her passion was to teach young people, especially children, about God through Sunday School and AWANA Cubbies, which she taught until retiring after her diagnosis in 2009.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 35 years, Marvin Lundstedt, daughter Carol Lundstedt of Omaha, NE, son Peter (Amanda) Lundstedt of Urbandale, IA, brothers Bach (Nancy) Bakehouse of Hastings, IA, David (Lori) Bakehouse of Round Rock, TX, and Tim Bakehouse of Denver, CO, Sister-in-law Louise (Albert) Smith of Braymer, MO, and multiple nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother.
