Memorials: To the Erik C. Jorgensen Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.
Erik Christian Jorgensen passed away at his home in Fort Collins, Colorado, on February 11, 2025, at the age of 45. He was born on January 28, 1980, in Atlantic, Iowa, to Dan Jorgensen and Dale Miller Dunlap.
Erik graduated from Clarion-Goldfield High School in 1998. He was a standout both in the classroom and on the field, competing with determination and heart as a football player and wrestler. After high school, Erik attended Simpson College in Indianola, then transferred to the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry.
Very driven and hard working, Erik built a successful career in animal health. He founded and ran his own Veterinary pharmacy, focusing on equine care—combining his love for animals with an entrepreneurial spirit that touched many in the veterinary and farming communities.
But Erik’s greatest joy and proudest legacy are his children: Samuel Howard and Edasen Wilde. He was a devoted and adventurous father, always up for a new experience with his kids. Whether they were camping under the stars, scaling a climbing wall, skiing, or exploring the mountains, Erik brought curiosity, energy, and love into every moment they shared.
Erik is survived by his beloved children, Samuel and Edasen; his parents, Dan (Christi) Jorgensen and Dale (Greg) Miller Dunlap, grandmother Shirley Eshelmann and many extended family members and friends who will always remember his quick wit, big heart, and fierce love for the people and passions that mattered most to him.
