Graveside Services: Monday, March 19 2012, at 2:30 p.m. at the Fontanelle Cemetery. Deacon Eugene Krawczyk will officiate the service. 

Visitation: Sunday, March 18th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials: To the Evelyn “Tootie” Lydon Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.

Evelyn "Tootie" Yvonne Lydon was born July 24, 1935 to Ben and Alice (Schwanebeck) Bakerink in Fontanelle, Iowa. She passed away March 15, 2012 at her home in Fontanelle, Iowa at the age of 77.

Tootie grew up in Fontanelle where she attended school and graduated from Fontanelle High School in 1954. On January 8, 1953 she was united in marriage to Earl Duane Lydon. To this union two children were born, Brad and Christi.

Tootie worked as a nurses aid at the Greenfield Manor for many years. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Fontanelle Enterprise Club. She enjoyed reading and liked going to the Library, helping with Bingo at the Good Samaritan Center in Fontanelle and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and St. Louis Cardinal fan. She especially loved being with her grandchildren and her Oatmeal cookies will be remember by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earl in 1999.

She is survived by her son, Brad Lydon and wife Jana of Kimballton and daughter, Christi Raasch of Corning; grandchildren, Luke Crawford and Wanda Shearer of Middletown, Ohio, Jaime and Chad Johnston of Corning, Sara and Jeremy Fish of Bethany, Missouri and Tye Lydon of Maryville, Missouri; great grandchildren, Mathew and Camryn and Beau Johnston of Corning and Dillon Crawford of Middletown, Ohio; a brother, Bill Eggen and wife Peggy of Salt Lake City, Utah; other relatives and friends.
