Celebration of Life Services: Will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Greenfield with burial at the Greenfield Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the church following the committal services at the cemetery. Pastor Eric Schubert will officiate the service.  

Open Visitation: Will be held on Monday, April 20th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Greenfield United Methodist Church. 

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Greenfield United Methodist Church. 

Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the James H. Christensen Family Trust. 

James Harley Christensen was born April 28, 1965 in Greenfield, Iowa to Larry and Rosann (Dwyer) Christensen. He passed away April 16, 2015 in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 49.

Jim graduated from Greenfield High School in 1983. He received a degree in structural drafting from Southwestern Community College in 1986. Jim worked in the steel fabrication industry his entire career and was most recently employed at Paxton Vierling Steel as a Sales Manager. Jim was an avid sports fan, had fun refereeing high school football and coaching the Sky Hawks Pop Warner football team. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and storytelling. A very proud dad, he especially loved spending time with his children.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hans & Vivian Christensen and Harley & Atholl Dwyer.

Jim is survived by his children, Alexandra and Nicholas Christensen of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Austin, Dane, and Jenna Christensen of Omaha, Nebraska; his father, Larry and step-mother Marlene Christensen of Greenfield; his mother, Rosann Christensen of Waukee; siblings Chuck (Deb) Christensen of Des Moines, Iowa; David (Lori) Christensen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Angie (Brad) Jacobsen of Waukee, Iowa as well as five nieces, three nephews, and one great-nephew. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Memorials may be directed to the James H. Christensen Family Trust.

The family of Jim Christensen wishes to express their gratitude for all acts of kindness shown to them in their time of sorrow and invites you to join them for a luncheon at the church following the services at the cemetery.
