Joyce Margaret Hogan Tucker was born February 25, 1945 in Greenfield, IA to Thomas Louis and Marguerite Lucille (Beaman) Hogan.  She passed away on April 17, 2024 at age of 79 years.  She moved with her family to Dalhart, TX as an infant.   Seven years later they returned to Iowa and lived in the Stuart vicinity for 2 years before moving to Menlo.   Joyce was baptized at St. John’s Catholic Church in Greenfield and made her First Communion at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Dalhart, TX in 1951.  Joyce and her family were members of All Saints Catholic Church in Stuart until 1963 when they moved to Greenfield and joined St. John’s Catholic Church.

After graduation from Menlo High School in 1963, Joyce worked in Des Moines for Look Magazine until her marriage to Leo Len Tucker on November 30, 1963 at St. John’s Catholic Church.  Joyce and Leo moved to a farm southeast of Bridgewater where they farmed together for 8 years.  In 1972, they bought Leo’s parent’s farm and farmed together until Leo retired.  They loved living on the farm where Leo was born and grew up.  After Leo passed away, Joyce resided there until her death.

Leo and Joyce were blessed with 3 children; Curtis Len, Christopher Louis and Melissa Ann.  She loved her family very much, they were her life.   She enjoyed attending all of the activities the kids were involved in.  Joyce had a love for Indian Artifact hunting and her dream was to go on an Archeological Dig, which in 2001 she got to do through the University of Iowa.   She loved to explore the river by the farm after big rains, where she found lots of artifacts including a Mammoth tooth.

Joyce worked with Leo as a partner on their farm putting in crops and raising cattle & hogs.  Leo was her best friend and the love of her life.   Joyce loved photographing her family and nature.  She loved to hunt for Morel mushrooms in the spring and it was more of a thrill to find them, than eat them.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Leo, her parents Tom & Marguerite Hogan, her in-laws Clarence & Marie Tucker, sister Jo Ann Hogan, son Christopher Tucker, and daughter-in-law Becky Tucker.

Joyce is survived by her son Curt Tucker (Brenda Rao) of rural Bridgewater, daughter Melissa Woosley (Eric) of Redfield; granddaughter Jessica Tucker (Brendan Johannsen) of Newton, grandson Trevor Tucker (Brooke Mortvedt) of Huxley; great-grandchildren Casen Tucker, Bria Wormley, Lennyn Tucker, and Stetson Tucker; sister Kay Hogan of Chapel Hill, NC, sister Jean Baudler (Larry) of Fontanelle, brother Dick Hogan (Pat) of Mount Vernon, brother-in-law Danny Tucker (Karen) of Mt Etna; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
