Larry Eugene Meisenheimer was born May 21, 1961, to Leo and Treva (Anderson) Meisenheimer in the Adair County Hospital. He passed away Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, doing what he loved checking his cows at the family farm.
Larry was the second oldest of four children. He attended Greenfield High School, graduating in May 1979. On March 5, 1988, he married the love of his life, Gina Waters. To this union were born two children, Luke and Katie. Following high school, he went to work at Greenfield Implement for 45 years.
He enjoyed going to work every day to interact with his co-workers and farmers that he spent hours repairing their farm equipment. He enjoyed sharing his gift of gab with all he met. He grew up on the family farm and enjoyed spending time with his cows and pigs. This love for animals stayed with him his entire life. He enjoyed touring the neighborhood in his ranger, taking Gina and the grandkids on many “slow” rides doing the traditional farmer wave. Once the grandkids arrived, he enjoyed attending their various activities. He looked forward to attending the local county and state fairs. He was an avid toy tractor collector that he proudly displayed. He enjoyed the modern technology of his flip phone. Traveling wasn’t his thing, but he did venture out on a few family vacations to Texas, Missouri, and Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Treva Meisenheimer and his parents-in-law, Jerry and Nancy Waters.
Surviving are his wife, Gina, and children Luke (Jodi) Meisenheimer and son Rhett of Bridgewater and Katie (Curtis) Gettler and children Carsen and Ember of Adair, brother Roger (Janelle) Meisenheimer of Greenfield, sisters, Kathy (Mike) McElree of Altoona, Mary Beth (Jim) English of Ankeny, sisters-in-law Julie Waters of Atlantic and Amy (Mark) Bradford of Lee’s Summit, MO, brother-in-law Troy (Cindy) Waters of Midlothian, TX, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews along with other family and friends.
