Lois Marie Anderson was born in our community to Harvey and Ruth (Foster) Gipple on October 23, 1926. She passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Society in Fontanelle, Iowa, at the age of 87.

Upon high school graduation she attended CE in Omaha, Nebraska. She married the love of her life “Sonny” Anderson on January 31, 1948, in the Bridgewater United Methodist Church. To this union two daughters were born: Claudia L. and Cynthia A.

Lois and Sonny lived in Bridgewater all of their forty five years of marriage. Lois will be remembered by all for her 18 years of bookkeeping at the Union State Bank and Anderson Equipment and Service. She always had a friendly smile.

Lois served in the United Methodist Church, was a member of the United Methodist Women and belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary.

Lois is survived by her two daughters, Claudia Hepler and husband Gail of Fontanelle and Cynthia Morris of Des Moines; three grandchildren, Jami, Cody (wife Andrea) and Megan (husband Jerrid); seven great grandchildren, Brianne, Annabelle, Jerrid Jr., Cale, Bryson, Madilynn and Foster; two sisters, Evelyn Simons and husband Norman of Newell, Iowa and Kathryn Miller of Fontanelle; sister-in-law, Barbara Gipple of Atlantic; and many other dear relatives.

Lois loved crocheting, Iowa and Iowa State basketball games, family and especially loved baking cookies for everyone. She loved the Bridgewater community and promoting her town. She loved to have her grandkids come for a visit, “going to the Bridgewater Lake” to watch the birds and taking long rides to find a deer or two.
