She grew up in Madison with her family and attended the UW of Wisconsin in Madison. While there she pursued a degree in music. She also toured with the University of Wisconsin Tudor Singers and performed in many cities. She had the voice of an angel that many of us had the privilege to hear.

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield.  She loved quilting, reading, puzzles, cats and BASEBALL. Especially her Chicago Cubs! She religiously watched or attended the College World Series every year. She wrote a book about baseball that was published named The Man from Right Field.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Dorothy.

She is survived by her daughters Rachel Nixon and Veronica Nixon (Travers Buda). Her sister Maren Vila and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
