Funeral Service: Will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. United Methodist Church in Cumberland with burial in the St. Timothy’s-Reno Catholic Cemetery, rural Cumberland, Iowa. Pastor Casey Pelzer will officiate the service. A luncheon will follow the service at the Cumberland Community Building.   

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Massena. 

Memorials: To the Mary Mills memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date. 

Mary L Mills was born March 26, 1942, in Sidney, NE.  The daughter of John George and Mable Agnes (Mehan) Kinnersley.  She passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the Heritage House in Atlantic, IA, at the age of 76.

Mary grew up in Sidney, NE and then attended high school in Wilton, IA.  She was united in marriage to Frederick Martin Mills on August 7, 1972 in Sioux Falls, SD.  She enjoyed bowling, golf, playing bingo, fishing, and especially loved spending time with all her Grandkids and Great-Grandkids.  She was a member of the Cumberland United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Kristi Sothman and Lisa Mills; two brothers, John Kinnersley Jr. and Robert Kinnersley; and three sisters, Eileen Ehrman, Beverly Hendricks, and Rose Walker.

She is survived by her husband, Frederick Martin Mills of Cumberland; children, Derek (Pam) Mills of Raymore, MO, Shari Exceen and Rick Andersen of Craig, NE, Mark (Michele) Mills of Lee's Summit, MO, David Powell of Lake Park, FL, and Andrea Schaap and David Peterson of Conifer, CO; (13) grandchildren; (9) great grandchildren; brother, Edward D Kinnersley of Gering, NE; other relatives and friends.
