Maudie Ellen Ott was born on June 27, 1954, the daughter of Maundrill Fred and Rosella (Keener) Howard in Creston, Iowa. She passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at her home in Greenfield at the age of 70.

Maudie was raised in Creston, Iowa, where she resided for most of her life until moving to her home in Greenfield to be closer to her grandchildren. She loved scratcher tickets and Raisin Crème Pies, almost as much as she loved her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. At 70 years old, on May 15, 2025, she was met in peace by her parents; sisters, Barbara Wilkie, Donna Hansen, Edna Lilly, Brenda Marshall and Bertha Long, as well as her mother, Rosella and her son, Lovell Griffen.

The things she enjoyed most were spending time with her family and sharing memories from her past. She was a kind woman, always helping others. She was everyone’s granny. And everyone. Her neighbors, strangers, neighborhood kids and anyone who crossd her path ended up loving her as such.

To carry her memory on, are her two daughters, Jennifer Schaecher (Ron) and Donna Ott (Nick Hardisty) of Greenfield; son, Mike of Missouri; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Rosemary Vanderplum (Lonnie) of Arispe, Iowa and Linda Thompson of Nashville, Tennessee; other relatives and friends.
