Sharon Glee Linthicum was born May 15, 1938, in Fontanelle, Iowa, the daughter of Deane and Jean (Acker) Darrow. She passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at the Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston, Iowa, at the age of 77.

Sharon attended Fontanelle High School and graduated in 1956. She enjoyed playing the piano, traveling, shopping, playing cards and following her children and grandchildren’s activities. To say she liked to be on the go would be an understatement. Many will remember Sharon as someone who was always having a fun time.

On July 21, 1952, she married Merlyn Clell Linthicum in the Congregational Church in Fontanelle. They moved to the Linthicum farm where they raised their four children: Mona, Scott, Robyn and Staci. Sharon stayed home and raised her children until 1983 when she started work at the Adair County Court House as deputy clerk of court. She had other jobs to keep her busy after she left the court house, including working at the Greenfield Elementary School in the cafeteria and Fountain Florist.

Sharon enjoyed being involved in the Hebron United Methodist Church and Women’s groups. She played the piano for Sunday school and church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Merlyn in 2007.

She is survived by her four children, Mona Gessley and husband Terry of Kansas City, Kansas, Scott Linthicum of Greenfield, Robyn Linthicum and friend Lori Ernst of Kirksville, Missouri and Staci Jones and husband Todd of Greenfield; six grandchildren, Talia Woods and Tara Duncan (husband Josh), Kelsia Linthicum, Zach Jones (wife Jessica), Paige Jones, Ben Linthicum; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Carson and husband Dean and Susan Thompson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
