Michael Schildberg

Mass of the Resurrection: Will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John’s Catholic Church in Greenfield. A luncheon will immediately follow the service. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.steenfunerals.com. 

Family Visitation: Will be held on Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the St. John’s Catholic Church Greenfield. 

Memorials: To the Michael Schildberg memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date. 

Michael Huntington Schildberg was born February 29, 1984, the son of William and Vicki (Armstrong) Schildberg. He passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at his home in Greenfield, Iowa, at the age of 29.

Michael grew up in Greenfield and graduated in 2002 from Nodaway Valley High School in Greenfield. After high school he attended Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa and then the University of Nebraska Omaha graduating with a bachelor degree in Aviation. He had worked for UPS, Scheels All Sports and recently was a supervisor for Schildberg Construction Company. He was united in marriage to Amber Wagner on July 21, 2007, in the St. John’s Catholic Church in Greenfield. To this union one son was born: Kaden Hiatt. Michael loved hunting, fishing, flying, airshows, his dogs “girls” Mayzie and Bella and especially his son Kaden "Pipp", wife "Schnauze" and family.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John Schildberg and Virgil Armstrong and cousin, Danielle Cherry.

He is survived by his wife Amber Schildberg and son, Kaden Schildberg of Greenfield; parents, Bill and Vicki Schildberg of Greenfield; two sisters, Crystal Westphal (Kyle) of Warrensburg, Missouri and Michelle Kernen (Matt) of Greenfield; brother, Matthew Schildberg of Villisca; grandmothers, Yvonne Schildberg and Joann Armstrong of Greenfield; nieces and nephews, Zoey, Kobe, Reagan, Gracie, Dawson and Mylee; other relatives and friends.
