Memorials: May be made to the Michael Tipling Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.
Michael Allen Tipling was born July 2nd 1959 and passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Clearview Homes in Mt Ayr Iowa at the age of 67. Michael lived his life with a quiet steadiness that made the world feel a little easier for the people lucky enough to know him. Patient, kind, and hardworking to his core, he was the person you could call for anything- and he’d simply smile and say, “That’s what I’m here for.” And he meant it every single time.
Born and raised in the Greenfield and Fontanelle area, Michael grew up with the values that stayed with him his whole life: hard work, humility, and an appreciation for the simple things. He loved the feel of wood beneath his hands as he shaped it into something useful, the peaceful patience of a day spent fishing, and most importantly to him, being surrounded by the people he loved. If he was with his family, he was home. His trademark raised eyebrows, pickle eyes, and perfectly timed winks were part of who he was—quiet expressions of humor, affection, and understanding. He never ended a conversation with his girls or grandchildren without saying, “I love you,” words always spoken with sincerity.
Mike was a devoted father to his daughters, Stephanie Wilson (Tipling) and Tiffany Haag (Tipling), whom he shared with his former spouse, Judy Lisk. Together, they raised two strong women who carry forward the same kindness and love they were shown. Mike was also a proud father-in-law to Eric Wilson and Cory Haag, welcoming them into the family with the same warmth and easy acceptance he showed everyone he cared about.
His most prized title was Grandpa to Kayla and Elliot. His bond with Kayla was something extra special; she arrived earlier in life, giving them more years side by side. Those years became a thread of shared moments, inside jokes, and a closeness that shaped them both. Whatever she needed, he was there for her, often before she asked. He held a soft spot for Elliot as well and offered the same warmth and Grandpa charm.
Mike is also survived by his siblings Bobby Tipling, Becky Stuva (Woody Welsch), and Kathy(Lee) Underwood, whose shared beginnings remain part of his story.
Survived as well by multiple nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther and Bob Tipling; his sister, Mary Ann Bakerink; his brothers-in-law, Russell Stuva and Jim Bakerink; his sister-in-law, Twilah Tipling; and his granddaughter, Eva Marie Haag, whom he now joins in peaceful rest.
Mike didn’t seek recognition. He showed love through his presence, acts of service, reliability, and, truly, the small everyday moments that were cumulative throughout his lifetime.
To honor Mike’s life, let us gather to share stories, laugh, and hold close the countless ways he showed love without fanfare.
Michael, our dad, was truly loved, and his presence will be missed. His legacy will live on in the people he shaped, the kindness he gave, and the simple moments that are poignant just because he was a part of them.
