Nancy Carlberg

Celebration of Life Services: Will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield. Pastor Bob Ward will officiate the service.  

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Wednesday at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 

Memorials: Memorials will be given to a charity of the families choice. 

Nancy Jo Carlberg was born February 17, 1952, the daughter of Herbert “Mert” and Veryl (Foster) Schweers in Greenfield, Iowa. She passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at her home in Greenfield, Iowa, at the age of 65.

Nancy grew up in Greenfield and graduated from Greenfield High School. She received her X-Ray Technician degree from Mercy Hospital School of Radiography in Des Moines, Iowa. She married Charles Carlberg and to this union two children were born: Alicia and Lukus. She worked for Broadlawns Hospital, Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines and the Adair County Medical Center in Greenfield. Nancy enjoyed painting, woodwork, crafting all kinds, and knitting for the homeless in Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jim Schweers.

She is survived by her two children, Alicia Carlberg and husband Craig Brown of Ankeny and Lukus Carlberg of Lakewood, Colorado; two sisters, Jane Watson and husband Perry of Lorimor, Iowa and Sarah Sickles and husband Dallas of Fontanelle; other relatives and friends.
