Patricia Nelson, 86, of Greenfield

Funeral Services:  Will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle, Iowa, with burial in the Greenfield Cemetery.  A luncheon will be held at the church following the burial.  Pastor Steven Broers will officiate the service.  The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements.  Online condolences may be left to the family at to be www.lambfuneralhomes.com.

Open Visitation:  Will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Family Visitation:  The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Memorials:  May be directed to the Pat Nelson Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.

   Patricia Anne Nelson was born April 7, 1936, the daughter of Earl and Lela (Witter) Leach in Creston, Iowa.  She passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023, at the Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield, Iowa, at the age of 86.
   Pat grew up in Creston and graduated from Creston High School in 1954.  She then attended Creston Junior College in Creston.  On June 12, 1955, she was united in marriage to Harold Nelson in the Salem Lutheran Church in Creston.  To this union three children were born: Pam, Mike and Doug.  They lived on various farms and in 1965 moved to their farm south of Greenfield.
   Pat was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle.  She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, her pets (especially her cat Simon), and took pride in taking care of her home.
   She was preceded in death by her parents.
   She is survived by her husband, Harold Nelson of Greenfield; three children, Pam Hanson (Phil) of Zimmerman, Minnesota, Mike Nelson (Lori) of Greenfield and Doug Nelson (JoAnn) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three grandchildren, Eric Nelson (Christa) of Grimes, Grant Nelson (Amber) of Osceola and Dr. Jon Hanson of Boston, Massachusetts; brother-in-law, Jim Nelson of Winterset, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
