Ramona “Toni” Lee Mace (Jacobson) passed away peacefullyon Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the Greenfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Toni was born on September 9, 1939, to Arnold and Madelynne Jacobson in Yankton,South Dakota. At birth, her grandfather lovingly gave her the nickname "Toni the Italian"a name that beautifully stuck with her for the rest of her life. Driven by a deep desire to care for others, she pursued her passion for healthcare, receiving her nursing degree and dedicating most of her adult life to working in the medical field. She was a remarkably hard worker throughout her entire life, a trait she took great pride in and successfully instilled as a lasting work ethic into all of her children. Her gentle touch, sharp intellect, and steadfast dedication brought comfort to countless patients throughout her career. The Nurses Honor Guard paid tribute to her years in healthcare on August 19, 2026 at her bedside.

When she wasn't working, raising her children or cleaning she loved nothing more than playing Bingo, visiting the casinos, and enjoying a good cup of coffee, always bringing her sharp wit, fun-loving energy, and hope for a lucky streak to the games. Toni also held a deep, lifelong love for the holiday season; she always thoroughly enjoyed Christmas, and even just a few days before her passing, she fondly asked her family for "one more Christmas."

Toni was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose family was the centerpiece of her world. Although she loved all of her grandchildren, her grandsons Tyler (T.J.) Hicks and Junior (J.R.) Hicks were her absolute pride and joy. She was incredibly close to them, adored them deeply, and treasured every moment they shared together. Her heart grew even larger with the next generation; she was absolutely thrilled when her great- granddaughter, Elaina Lee Hicks, was born to share her middle name, and when her great-grandson Kobe came along, her heart was completely full. The legacy of her loving, nurturing spirit—and her wonderful sense of fun—will continue to live on through them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Madelynne Jacobson; her infant twins, Brianna and Brian Mace; and her son, Gregory Mace.

She leaves behind a family who adored her and is survived by:

Her son, Donald Mace

Nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, alongside a host of other extended relatives and dear friends.
