Celebration of Life Services: Saturday, November 20, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Greenfield United Methodist Church. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Pastor Jeff Banks will officiate the service.

Family Visitation: Friday, November 19th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield

Open Visitation: Friday, November 19th from Noon to 8 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield.

Ricky William Leander was born on January 1, 1960, in Greenfield, Iowa, the son of Denny Leander and DeLoy (Anderson) Cannon. He died on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, near Bridgewater, Iowa, at the age of 50.

Ricky was raised in Greenfield and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1978 and then graduated from Southwestern Community College in Creston. After graduating from college Ricky worked as a master electrician in Garden City, Kansas, Creston, Iowa and the last several years in Massena, Iowa. He had worked for Poet Biorefining in Corning for the last three and a half years.

Ricky was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post No. 105 in Fayetteville, Georgia. He loved playing with his dog, Chopper, fishing, car races, the Minnesota Vikings, social outing with friends, and especially being with all his cousins and family, which were so dear to him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Adolph and Lillie Anderson, George and Clara Leander; various aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his mother, DeLoy Cannon of Greenfield; Denny Leander (Patsy) of Fayetteville, Georgia; sister, Laura Imerman (Brick) of Guthrie Center; nieces and nephews, Reid, Randi, Brick, Trey, and Gunner; special friend, Bonnie Larson of Massena; many other relatives and friends.
