Graveside Services: Will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, at the Fontanelle Cemetery in Fontanelle with Pastor Melodee Carstens officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow the graveside at the Greenfield Bowl in Greenfield from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lambfuneralhomes.com.
Memorials: May be directed to the Scott Brown Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.
Scott Lary Brown was born on 8/5/1964 in Greenfield, IA to Bruce and Delores (Lary) Brown. He passed away at his home on 6/9/2025.
Scott grew up on a farm North of Fontanelle. He graduated from Bridgewater-Fontanelle High School in 1982. He participated in football and basketball during high school. He attended SWCC community college earning an associate’s degree.
Scott worked for Baudler Farms as a farm hand (where he earned the nickname Wormy) and Co-op car care center before starting his own mechanic and tire business.
He may not have always enjoyed working on vehicles, but he did take pride in helping others. When not working, he enjoyed playing slow pitch softball, bowling, watching Iowa Hawkeye athletics, and NASCAR racing. He also enjoyed participating in demo derby and figure 8 races as a driver and pit crew mechanic.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Delores Brown, and brother-in-law Mark Lents.
Survived by his siblings, Darla (Greg) Ernst of Lincoln, NE, Steve Brown, Fontanelle, and Jayne Lents, Greenfield. Nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family, and friends.
