Scott Robert Krauth died at his home in Grimes, Iowa, on Saturday, July 4, 2020.

Scott was a loving son and best friend to his mother, Earlene Krauth of Massena.

He is survived by his mother and by his sister Stephanie Krauth, his brother-in-law Christopher Lindgren, his nephew Samuel Lindgren; two aunts, Karen Palumbo of Coralville, Iowa and Lavonne Krauth of Newberry, Florida; cousins and friends.

Scott was predeceased by his father, Robert Krauth, his uncle John (Jack) Krauth, and by his paternal and maternal grandparents, Carl and Myrtle Krauth and Earl and Amy Bixler.

Scott Robert Krauth was born on October 21, 1968, He was one of the first babies born in the “new” Cass County Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa.

Scott lived on the family farm south of Massena during his childhood. He graduated from Cumberland-Massena High School in 1987. Scott went on to Simpson College, graduating with a Bachelors in Business Management in 1991.

Scott’s pursuit of a career in business took him to the Des Moines area for his adult life, working with Ruan, Wells Fargo, and Federal Express.

Scott was an avid reader and especially enjoyed spending time with his fraternity brothers from Kappa Theta Psi fraternity at Simpson College. Scott enjoyed spending time on the family farm. He enjoyed mowing and would often bring seeds and plants home for the family garden. At a younger age he enjoyed motorcycles. His 630 John Deere which belonged to Grandpa Earl is still at the farm. We enjoyed his wit, humor, and hearty laugh.
