Susan Davis, 63, of Fontanelle passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Memorial Services: Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle with burial in the Fontanelle Cemetery.

Family visitation: One hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Luncheon: At the Greenfield United Methodist Church following the committal services at the cemetery.

Susan Davis was born on June 3, 1948, in Creston, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin Thomas and Betty Jean (David) Huddleson. She passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, at the age of 63.

Susan grew up in Adair County and graduated from Orient High School in 1967. She attended cosmetology school in Council Bluffs. For the past twenty eight years she has lived with Howard Burgher. To this union one son was born, Joshua. She had lived in Mt. Ayr from 1980 to 1999 and then moved to Fontanelle. She loved to crotchet, cook and loved to watch ballgames on t.v.

She was preceded in death by her father; son, Perry Davis; and companion, Howard Burgher.

She is survived by her daughters, Penny Luft and husband Tommy of Corning, Betty Davis of Creston, and Jeannie Franklin and husband Tony of Council Bluffs; son, Joshua Coulter of Bridgewater; step son, Danny Burgher of Maryville, Missouri; four grandchildren, Walker and Hunter Patterson and Isaac Hayes and Ezra Coulter; three sisters, Marvel Blazek and husband Robert of Prescott, Ethel Farlow and husband Jack of Greenfield, and Patrica Reeves of Greenfield; one brother, Steve Huddleson and wife Risa of Orient; other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be directed to the Susan Davis memorial fund to be established by the family, in care of Steen Funeral Home, P.O. Box 390, Greenfield, Iowa 50849.
