Tommy Watters, 49, of Orient

Celebration of Life Services: Will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Macksburg with a luncheon immediately following. Tommy Dwayne Watters was born on January 15, 1976, the son of Lonny R. and Edna Sue (Howard) Watters in Iowa City, Iowa. He passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at his home in Orient, Iowa, at the age of 49. 

Tommy grew up in Shannon City, Iowa, with his siblings and parents. He loved many hobbies such as woodworking, fishing, rebuilding computers. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. What he enjoyed most was always being sure to spend time with his beloved fiancé Hidie along with his little dog, Izzy. He cherished the special bond he had with his grandchild, Lilly. Tommy love helping others working on vehicles. Tommy was one unique person who was able to make the most out of anything. 

He was preceded in death by both his parents; his brother, Lonny R. Watters; sister, Leone Armeda Carney; brother-in-law, Charles Abell; and father-in-law, Rod Abell. 

He is survived by his significant other Hidie Abell; brother-in-law, Adam Abell and wife Tonya; brother-in-law, Andrew Carney; mother-in-law, Nancy Abell and husband Larry; stepdaughter, Brittany Brown; stepson, Dakota Brown; stepson, Wyatt Brown; two nieces, Amanda Sluyter and Andrea Carney; nephew, Marcus Carney; five grandchildren, three great nieces, many relatives and friends whose lives he has touched.
