Celebration of Life Services: Will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield with pastor Jeff Banks officiating.  

Visitation: Will be held on Tuesday, January 24th at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield from 12:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Wallis Dwinell memorial fund to be established by the family.

Wallis Bell Dwinell was born on November 15, 1937, to Wally and Dorothy (Bell) Grounds in Greenfield, Iowa. She passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, at the age of 74.

Wallis was raised in Greenfield and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1955. She then attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. On June 9, 1956, she was united in marriage to Ronald Dwinell in Las Cruces, New Mexico, while Ron was in the service. To this union two children were born: Mark and Sara.

Wallis was part owner/operator of First Street Antiques in Greenfield for many years. She loved collecting antiques, making jewelry (which she was very creative), playing cards, games, golfing, good food, and especially being with her family. She was a 55 year member of PEO Sisterhood. She spent almost every winter in Hawaii with her relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Dwinell; and sister, Sara Howell.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Dwinell of Greenfield; daughter, Sara Daughenbaugh and husband Alan of Greenfield; two grandsons, Luke Daughenbaugh of Des Moines and Cole Daughenbaugh of Greenfield; other relatives and many friends.
