Wynona was baptized in the Merrill’s Grove Baptist Church and was a member until she joined Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon and has been a member since.
She attended country school Douglas #3 through eighth grade and Audubon High School graduating with the Class of 1943. After graduation, she worked at the Green Bay Lumber Company until her marriage to Everett Wendt on June 21, 1945. To this union two daughters were born, Sherry Jo and Carol Ann. They each had a son, E. Jason Coufal and Travis Paul Root.
Wynona and Everett made their home on a farm northwest of Audubon. She was a hard-working homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, and helping on the farm. In 1997, Wynona and Everett moved from the family farm to their home in Audubon. Following Everett’s passing on November 24, 2019, she has resided at the Exira Care Center.
Throughout the years, Wynona had many passions including: hosting card parties with friends, visiting with neighbors, camping, and watching game shows. She always looked forward to wintering in Arizona, playing bingo, and going out to eat at different restaurants. Above all, she loved and enjoyed being with her family.

Jason Coufal (Hillary Lottes) of Omaha, NE and Travis Root (Samantha) of Dakota Dunes, SD; one great grandson, Landry Root of Dakota Dunes, SD; one brother-in-law, Ervin Wendt of San Diego, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
